JW Clark Ltd has been trading since 2002, and we have in the last two years started to provide Plant Haulage using rigid 8-wheel plant lorries. We currently run three of these, with a 4-wheel plant lorry coming in early 2021.
JW Clark Plant Haulage Lorries
Our plant lorries can be used to provide haulage for diggers, dumpers, forklifts, telehandlers and other items of machinery or just general haulage like pallets of bricks, blocks, rolls of pipes or even wood. We move a lot of large and heavy items from the site to site for civil engineers including manhole rings and manhole biscuits etc, sheet piles, trench boxes and manhole boxes
Our plant lorries all have a gross payload of 18 tonnes, we are able to provide haulage for 14-tonne track machines. All 8-wheel plant lorries are equipped with winch capability in the event that any loads need dragging onto the lorries, including breakdowns etc.
Our class 2 drivers are more than capable to be able to drive most items of plant and machinery, to avoid anyone of your staff needing to be there on-site and they can safely secure any load to give you peace of mind every time.
We cater for all types of Plant haulage customers, including companies that sell various Manitou telehandlers, and from standard industrial size forklifts right up to heavy site telehandlers with large reaches for going up to the top of the scaffold.
Then we have regular groundwork & civil engineers that need all of their sites clearing of plant and other construction-based objects like bowsers, old stock like ducting and pipes. It really does not matter what size plant you need moving because our drivers can handle most, whether it be a micro digger a 14t steel track machine.
We move all of our own diggers, dumpers and rollers so our customers can rest assured their machines are safe with us.
It’s not just plant haulage though, one of our customers makes and supplies timber framework for houses, we often need to take a full load of this and take it to the site for a crane to lift straight off.
Other types of general haulage consist of left-over stock from sites, for example, Ducting and pipes and drainage items like concrete manhole rings and chambers.
We also happily take on Plant haulage work from members of the public, this often includes old/second-hand types of machinery either going off to auction or just been purchased and need transporting to the location of their next stage of life. We recently collected an old Massey Ferguson that just needed an easier life in a motorsport field instead of its hardworking life on a farm.
Our drivers are fully trained to secure plant using a variant of fastenings from ratchet straps to metal chains and ratchet binders and can identify what type to use for what plant/load they are hauling.
Coming soon to the fleet is a 6-wheel plant lorry or the smaller access, lighter loads. This will be used in conjunction with our Mini Digger and Dumper Hire but will give us more flexibility when it comes to just hauling smaller plant for example micro digger, 1.5t diggers, skip loaders and other small dumpers. This will also include your industrial size forklifts.

All of our vehicles are 32 tonne GVW and can carry up to 18 tonnes.

Yes we have a winch capability for breakdowns.
Our lorries are all 8w rigid plant lorries with a bed measuring 9.3m, however we can carry longer loads but please ring for all requirements.
Because we care. We are fully insured, but in addition to the basics all vehicles are tracked. We always take a photo of the load once delivered to site for your records, and we’ll always email you once the load has been delivered. Our drivers are trained by the RHA in plant haulage and in load restraint in particular. We are fully insured to RHA conditions.
